Over 200 amateur skateboarders came to Desert West Skatepark in Phoenix, Arizona, USA for the 14th annual Phoenix Am, presented by Vans, March 28 and 29, 2015, one of skateboarding’s biggest amateur contests.
There was ton of pushing in the heat that radiated off of the sleek, spacious course as the field of skaters got whittled down to 39 for the semi-finals. There were eleven skaters along with the Golden Ticket winner, Tyson Bowerbank who advanced straight to the finals.
Jack Olson took first place and Phoenix’s Dashawn Jordan won the Red Bull Best Trick contest. Olson covered the entire course, dialing in tons of tricks including a krook up the rail, a switch feeble grind, a switch hurricane down the rail and a 180 switch feeble grind.
PHXAM had a live webcast to spread the skating world-wide.
