Brisbane 27 September 2013. World class Queensland produce has gone on show today in one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious food outlets.
Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry John McVeigh launched the Queensland Fresh and Fresher promotion in front of trade mission delegates, shoppers and suppliers in the city’s PARKnSHOP outlet in the Great Food Hall.
“Queensland food producers are proud of the relationships that have been established with Hong Kong retailers such as PARKnSHOP that allow our quality goods to be enjoyed by shoppers and their families,” Mr McVeigh said.
“Queensland already exports $6.3 billion worth of agriculture and food products per year, but we have great potential to significantly increase our agricultural effort.
“The Newman Government has set a target of doubling agricultural production by 2040 and Asia is vitally important to our plans to make Queensland the engine room of growth in the region.
“A lot of work has already been done to strengthen relationships and opportunities in key sectors, which this promotion highlights.”
As part of this promotion, for the next two weeks shoppers will enjoy cooking demonstrations and food tastings that highlight 10 Queensland food suppliers across premium beef, chicken and seafood along with fruit, vegetables and beverages.
