TOPEKA, Kan., Sept. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Kia has officially announced that the Kia Quoris, the Korean manufacturer's flagship sedan, will be going on sale in the U.S. sometime next year. The full-size luxury sedan is currently available in Korea and the Middle East where it is more commonly known as the K9. The first model, released just last year, appealed to consumers with its futuristic design and styling. While exact specifics of the Americanized Quoris have not been released, the sedan is expected to come loaded with the majority of the features found in the newest Quoris model. Even the specifics on that model have been kept tightly under wraps, but Kia has leaked information about a few promising features.

The manufacturer is equipping the new Quoris with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In the first Quoris model, the eight-speed transmission was paired with a 285 horsepower 3.8-liter V-6 engine. That power is likely to remain, if not increase, when the Quoris comes to the U.S. next year. The sedan will provide four different driving modes. Consumers have grown accustomed to seeing normal, eco and sport driving modes on newer sedans, but the Quoris will also provide a mode ideal for driving in the snow.

Two other advanced features not normally found in U.S. cars will be found in the Quoris. That includes an adaptive front lighting system which automatically alters the LED headlight beam pattern depending on the speed and steering angle of the Quoris. Four cameras will also be spread out around the vehicle. The cameras help to power features such as adaptive cruise control, but they also provide a virtual bird's eye image of the car at any time. The system assists the driver in both blind spot monitoring and parking. A predicted trajectory on the rearview camera feed further assists the driver in backing the Quoris into a tight spot.

The exact release date of the Kia Quoris in the U.S. has not been unveiled yet, but it's been estimated that it will officially go on sale here in the third quarter of 2014.
