Celebrated in March, in conjunction with International Women's Day on March 8, National Women's Month serves to highlight the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. It also serves as an opportunity to talk about women's health and engage women on the topics of cancer and heart disease.

Among the initiatives planned by CORI to mark National Women's History month is outreach to underserved communities in an effort to spread the message of early detection and cancer prevention. Dr. Anton Bilchik will also help raise funds for cancer research that will help save women's lives.

About Anton Bilchik, MDAnton Bilchik, MD, PhD, FACS, is Professor of Surgery and Chief of Medicine at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, Calif. He received his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa and earned a doctoral degree in gastrointestinal physiology at Yale University.
