SAN DIEGO, Oct. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ --  Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) Day, celebrated annually on October 24, was created to raise awareness of the benefits of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, an effective form of medicine with a 3,000 year history. In celebration of this national day of observance, Pacific Symposium, a gathering of acupuncturists and other health care practitioners from around the world have come together annually since 1989 to exchange state-of-the-art knowledge and gain further inspiration from speakers at the forefront of the integrative health community.

For its 25th Anniversary, Pacific Symposium is proud to present Ted Kaptchuk, author and assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, as this year's Keynote Speaker. Dr. Kaptchuk will be discussing the latest clinical research on acupuncture, including controversial methods like "placebo acupuncture".

Jeffrey Yuen, Ted Kaptchuck, Kiiko Matsumoto, Miki Shima, Giovanni Maciocia, Lillian Bridges, and Matt Callison are just a few of the twenty-three experts who will present seminars and lead interactive workshops covering a myriad of Oriental medicine topics.
