Southern California University Of Health Sciences Announces 2013 Extravaganza

WHITTIER, Calif., Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU), the nation's leading post-graduate college for chiropractic, acupuncture and oriental medicine, welcomes progressive and alternative integrated healthcare practitioners to the 2013 Extravaganza, the annual school-sponsored professional conference for active practitioners to complete required CEU's (Continuing Education Units), attend informative sessions from a range of dynamic speakers in the medical, chiropractic and acupuncture/oriental medicine fields, and enjoy a variety of festive social events. The SCU Extravaganza continues to grow, as evidenced by a substantial increase in interest, and record attendance is anticipated at this year's event.

The SCU Extravaganza Continuing Education Conference for Chiropractors and Acupuncturists takes place October 18th to 20th at the Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort. Conference sessions will be led by a team of educators and professional practitioners from multiple disciplines and begin Friday, October 18th. A wide variety of sessions focusing on crucial aspects and changes in treatment techniques will be held throughout the weekend for Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Radiologists, Certified Athletic Trainers, Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Qualified Medical Examiners.

Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) and Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) attendees may select from at total of 50.0 hours of offered course-time to mix and match up to 24.0 hours of State Board-approved CEUs. There are also additional sessions to be held focusing on Radiology, Techniques, and Ethics, as well as re-certification for Qualified Medical Examiners.On Friday, October 18th, SCU Extravaganza will present a special screening of Pain in America: The Silver Tsunami at 6:00pm. The documentary offers a unique cinematic perspective on chiropractic's role in the U.S. Healthcare System and was written and directed by Academy Award winning filmmaker Don Barrett, who will also appear in-person to introduce the film and lead an informative audience Q&A.
