FORT COLLINS, Colo., Sept. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Computer Renaissance announces its efforts to assist the families and businesses affected by the recent Colorado floods. The Fort Collins computer repair store is gearing its merchandise and technical work specifically to assist people who have waterlogged computers.
Relief efforts have begun in the store, as managers increase their inventory of refurbished and custom-built computers. This will ensure that people who need to replace their computers will have immediate access to the best choices possible. Sometimes, in times of great need and natural disasters, it is easiest simply to replace electronics so that business and life can proceed as normal.
For computers that suffered damages but are partly in working condition, technicians are able to pull out all usable components. They can try to recover a hard drive, salvage the memory, and take other components out. These can then be transferred to a refurbished computer so that the customer doesn't lose all personal information that was on the old, waterlogged computer.
Some computers were minimally damaged by the flood, either because they were above the water level or were somewhat protected by an obstruction. It is still best if those computers are inspected before use, since any moisture inside a computer case can cause significant damage.
Computer Renaissance is continuing to gather more machines, technicians, and resources to assist a large number of flood victims. A backup technician has also been placed on call for an indefinite amount of time. He is available for additional support and repairs should the need arise.
Small businesses within a half-hour drive of the store are able to invite technicians in to provide onsite support for their computers. This is recommended even before computers are turned on again, to ensure that there is no water damage. Technicians are able to provide much-needed support and business owners won't need to transport computers back and forth.
"Our hearts go out to every person affected by these floods," says Mike Stolz, owner of Computer Renaissance. "We're a local company, and we want to invest in the people of these communities. And because this part of Fort Collins was not greatly affected, we're in a better position to help people begin to rebuild their lives."
Computer Renaissance is a Fort Collins computer store, but serves a wide area of the Front Range and the foothills. People who live in Loveland or south of the city are welcome to stop by and speak with a technician. You can find them at www.comprenfc.com or by calling 970.223.8398.
