NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- While football stars Peyton Manning, Richard Sherman, Demaryius Thomas and Marshawn Lynch are busy gearing up for the big game, other top athletes and celebrities in the area are scoring their own super weekend. Lauded as the Ultimate Sand Bar Island with more than 20 toes-in-the-sand and floating dock dining experiences, Aruba has launched the Aruba Super Bar in NYC – giving A-listers like Deion Sanders, Joe Montana and Guy Fieri a taste of island life through a dynamic mixology and gifting experience inspired by Aruba's most epic adventures.

"As the host of the top celebrity gift lounge, our goal is to capture the spirit of the weekend's sports craze by bringing Aruba's active side to life in an authentic and engaging way," said Ronella Tjin-Asjoe Croes, CEO of Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA).

Aruba boasts a diverse range of activities on every corner of the island, from beach tennis on the southwest coast's white-powder sands and horseback riding along the rugged and wild northern shore to stand-up paddle boarding in the secluded Spanish Lagoon.

With the help of famous island mixologist, A-J Tromp of White Modern Cuisine, celebrities can toast to a weekend of winning with one of five adventure-themed cocktails they'll personally create.

Featured cocktails include*:

  • Eagle Beach Bellini: With refreshing lemon rum infused with aged resposado tequila, this bubbly aperitif is as gorgeous as one of Aruba's breathtaking sunsets on Eagle Beach.
  • Mangel Haltorita: With zesty additions of basil, lemongrass and passion fruit, this margarita's flavors match the playful, vibrant nature of Mangel Halto Beach.
  • Hadicurari Windy Sour: The dichotomy between Aruba's constant trade wind breezes and still turquoise waters at Hadicurari inspires this intriguing sweet and sour scotch cocktail.
  • Guadirikiri Cave Cooler: This robust fusion of vodka and fruit is as compelling as the historic interiors of Aruba's Guadirikiri Caves.
  • Conchi Cosmo: This flirty and bold cosmopolitan brings to mind the lively waves pouring from the Caribbean sea into Conchi, Aruba's Natural Pool.

"Behind each beverage is a story – a story that is sure to resonate with our guests as they personally create their cocktails of choice," said Tromp.

Croes believes the chic ambiance of the Aruba Super Bar will equally captivate the celebrities. An epicurean melting pot, Aruba is home to 150+ restaurants influenced by the zesty flavors of the more than 90 nationalities represented on-island. The breezily sophisticated lounge is inspired by the island's collection of culinary hideaways, ideally situated on white-sand beaches or floating on docks above turquoise waters. Renowned for breathtaking sunset views, these venues make Aruba the Ultimate Sand Bar Island.

"Ultimately, we're giving our guests much more than gifts and drinks," said Croes. "We're offering an authentic taste of Aruba and more importantly, an open invitation to visit our One happy island. After all, SUPER stars shine brighter in Aruba."

Aruba Super Bar is an "Invite Only Event" for celebrities and media, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Jan. 30-31, and 3 to 7 p.m., Feb. 1, in the Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC. Submit invitation requests to arubapr@zimmerman.com.
