Today GitHub announced a new update on its premium paid offering, GitHub Enterprise, revamping key features and tools to help developers save time and streamline their experience through the simplification of team and repository admin tasks.
The latest release of GitHub Enterprise 2.16 is the first update to the premium paid offering since it unified Enterprise Cloud and Enterprise Server platforms.
Some key new features GitHub is introducing includes:
Force push timeline events
Helps project maintainers keep track of what other collaborators are doing
Issue template automation
Allows project maintainers to add a default title, label and assignees to their projects
Improve outdated comments
Allows collaborators to see if the conversation thread is outdated once the line of code that started the conversation has changed
Repository creation permissions
To simplify the administration experience, administrators can determine the permission of the repository
Pull request reviews automatically update merge button
Submitting a pull request review will update the merge button based on the result of that review without refreshing the page
Visibility to collaborator invitations
Organisation owners can now decide if they want to allow other internal members to send invitations to external collaborators
