Joomla is a very popular system for running websites. It is used to run small and HUGE websites by businesses, bloggers and government departments all around the world.
Wordpress is similar, but Wordpress is not as scaleable as Joomla.
Anyone who is already running a Joomla site, will tell you that the vast range of modules, components, plugins, templates and other extensions enable almost any function that has been created to work on Joomla.
At Businesses.com.au we recently added a shopping site to our RogersDIGITAL range of news and magazine sites on Auzzi.com.au.
While we were setting up the new shopping website we went looking for a module to briefly display a popup banner to point viewers to a specific page. The idea was to make it easier for visitors to find what they were looking for by highlighting directions using an image that appeared to temporarily hover over the page on screen.
In the past, there were all sorts of joomla modules that that worked if you were a part time brain surgeon but they all had some issue that led to us abandoning the popup idea. There are dozens of easy to set up display options that come with CoolNotifier and all can be changed quickly to display different messages or link to different pages. The Joomla developer Burak provides updates and additional display designs for members or customers and these listed on a member bulletin board are made available via automatic updates on the Joomla backend or for manual download.
