Battle in Qatar: As it Happened

At this point, the names Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are household names, perhaps globally. They are arguably among the biggest names in racing and can be counted among the greats of the sport. In the same way that tennis fans are blessed to be watching a generation with a handful of exceptional tennis players, F1 fans are in the same boat. Verstappen and Hamilton came head-to-head in an epic battle in Qatar on Sunday that ended up with the British man taking the win, with Verstappen coming in a close second. Isn’t it always the way?

There is no doubt that the current F1 championships race is heating up as the most recent race has shown. On the day, Verstappen and Hamilton seemed to be in a class of their own as they sped away from the rest of the competitors. Of course, both racers will be aware of how important each race is when it comes to securing those all-important points that will lead to a world championship title, and the conviction that both men demonstrated on the track was exemplary.

The between the two teams is close to a boiling point now. With two races to go, Verstappen is in the lead with 351.5 points with Hamilton trailing behind with 343.5 points. However, when it comes to the constructors, then Mercedes is leading with 546.5 points to Red Bull’s 541.5. Hamilton would have been well aware of his individual point deferential though and would have come into this race seeking a win. As those who watched the race will know, Hamilton’s conviction paid off and he secured his desired win.

Judging from the kind of performance seen in Qatar, it is clear to see that Mercedes and their star man have stepped up their game, an escalation that was sorely needed, especially at such a pivotal point in the competition. Hamilton has won it all and is still hungry – he can be best likened to the insatiable Cristiano Ronaldo who continues to play at a high level despite his age. It seems that Hamilton has found a new trust in the factory simulator, on which he spends much of the night practising.

As always, Hamilton’s victory was down to his individual skill but also because of Mercedes impeccable engineering. Complete with a fresh engine and some powerful tools to use on the car, the team has given Hamilton the tools needed to succeed. All the Brit must do now is continue in what he does best. As most will know, F1 commands a great betting scene, and there will no doubt be eager players ready to bet on Hamilton and Mercedes to win. However, some might have tired of betting and might prefer playing at online casino sites like Cloud bet as this offers a different experience compared to predicting who might win the championship.

Fans of F1 will be looking forward expectantly to the next race, which will be a pivotal moment for both Verstappen and Hamilton.
