The growth of flexible workplace practices

Jeunesse Australasia is empowering their team to take control of their time

Rachel McVinish, General Manager of Jeunesse Australasia, shares how Jeunesse is embracing flexible workplace practices and new technology to help their team stay connected and find success in challenging and rapidly changing times.

The COVID-19 crisis turned the business world on its head, with many companies forced to make tough decisions quickly in order to survive in the ‘new normal’. One of the more positive changes to come out of this one-in-one-hundred-year event has been the growth of working from home and flexible working schedules.

The worldwide pandemic acted as a catalyst in transforming the modern workplace environment we once knew. Many companies made the switch to working remotely by embracing new technology and digital platforms, which has led to higher levels of creativity, innovation and increased overall productivity and efficiency.

Jeunesse Australasia has continued to thrive during the COVID-19 crisis. We have supported hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers and managed to maintain a high revenue per capita. The key to our success has been to provide our team with the tools they need to work flexibly and stay connected virtually while working from home.

Jeunesse utilises a direct selling business model, which empowers individuals to build their own business using a global infrastructure in a rapidly growing industry, whilst working flexibly on their own terms. Increased working from home has developed a stronger desire for a flexible work schedule, with new research revealing that 70% of working women think that the new normal will give them the power to control their work schedule1.

Jeunesse Live was created in response to the pandemic, and is a platform where our team can log on to any Jeunesse event in the 150 countries where we do business and focus on the information that they need for that particular market. As a company we go live twice a week every Tuesday and every Thursday with corporate updates. We are always training, whether it be product training or entrepreneurship. Leadership training from industry experts and top-level distributors ensures that we can upskill our team to take advantage of the resources provided to them.

Our flexible workplace practices give people the opportunity to build a business by investing the time that they want to invest according to their own schedules and priorities. When the pandemic forced many businesses to shut down and 1.4 million Australians out of work, without any sort of income, our business model enabled people to continue to make an income on their own time, from their own home. If a parent wants to be at home for their children or to be available to take their children to school, they can choose to input only a couple of hours per week into the business. The time you invest is broken out into the income you earn, giving you the ability to continue living your life whilst still being able to have success on your own terms.

While the pandemic will not last forever, what is certain is that the modern workplace has been changed for good. Moving forward, businesses and employees will have the freedom of greater flexibility, bringing about new working arrangements and new job opportunities for many people otherwise shut out of the workforce. The flow on effect of increased flexible workplace practises will empower people by giving them more choice when it comes to their careers.
