You 100% Need a Business Plan

TL;DR: You know the saying “more planning, more problems?” No? That’s right — because it doesn’t exist. In fact, the more planning the better in most cases. Here is exactly why you need a business plan for your startup.

Imagine a world where our trips are booked for us and we don’t have to do any searching, booking, or scheduling. Everything is done without any of our efforts and we get to simply enjoy the experience. Back to reality: no planning means no flights booked, no hotels reserved, and no traveling happening because we didn’t make sure to take the right steps ensuring total trip satisfaction.

Sure, bumps can happen along the way even with the most efficient planning, but no one has ever said, “I wish I didn’t plan so well.”

A Business Plan is More Important Than We Realize

As human beings, we tend to over plan for things that aren’t “life significant” (vacations, parties, etc.), and commonly under plan for things that are — our business is one of those things (especially for anyone new to the startup life).

Sure, we know a lot about what our product/service is and care about it wholeheartedly — we took a leap and turned it into a business, after all. But without a business plan to get every detail in line and at the forefront of our journey, we might as well try and walk through security without a plane ticket and see how far that gets us.

Why waste energy fixing details that could have been considered and planned out ahead of time? Thus, exerting more effort, wasting time, and (in all ways) spending more money, too. When this happens, we aren’t doing ourselves any favors.

We Need to Properly Start-Up Our Startup

The best thing we can do for our startup is to make a solid plan for it from the get-go. Before we get lost in the stories of entrepreneurs becoming overnight successes without any effort, we need to give our business its best shot at success (whether we wake up tomorrow as an instant billionaire or not) — and that means it needs a proper business plan.

Whether we are running the company by ourselves or with a fully staffed team, we can’t move forward if we aren’t all on the same page and a business plan is exactly what gets us there.

Bizplan was made to simplify everything and guide founders in all walks of the startup journey through the entire business planning process. They’ve helped companies in the thousands hit the ground running with business plans made right on their platform.
