Deepend win big at the 22nd AMY Awards

Leading independent digital agency, Deepend, has taken out top honours in three categories at the 22nd AMY Awards, presented by the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA), announced on Friday evening.

The renowned AMY Awards are the longest running Awards in the local digital industry and recognise excellence and vision within the ever-evolving creative and technological landscape. Entries are judged by a panel of over 100 industry experts, with submissions evaluated on their creativity, innovation, user experience, technical implementation and overall effectiveness.

Matt Griffin, Founder and Executive Director of Deepend, said he is thrilled with the wins which showcase how the agency’s commitment to positive change and delivering outstanding work that makes an impact.

“Digital has quickly established itself as a medium of genuine learning and human connection, and it’s clear that today, technological solutions need to be long-lasting and versatile to have a genuine impact and improve people’s lives.

“Deepend is passionate about human-centric design and developing solutions based on real-world insights, and we work directly with the end users throughout the development process whenever we can. This user-first approach has allowed us to consistently create technical products that brands and their customers both want and need.”

About the award winning projects:

ARN.com.au is the single content publishing platform for all 11 stations owned by Australian Radio National. The site architecture revolves around a shared content repository that enables producers to quickly syndicate different articles to all sites across the network, along with the ability to edit the placement of content on each consumer site. This facilitates huge operational efficiencies, and has transformed the content production team into a highly nimble publishing outfit.

Site stickiness and seamless transitioning of the user to other related content on the 11 consumer facing platforms was key to development, as was a mobile-first approach to defining the user experience.

enableme is an innovative online portal to assist Australian stroke survivors in everyday activities after formal rehabilitation ends. It combines information, advice and the ability to set personal goals, while also enabling connection with other stroke survivors, carers and families.

A world-first digital initiative, the hyper-accessible web platform has ground breaking online accessibility standards. The site settings can be customised to help meet a range of individual needs that stroke survivors may have, including vision, communication and mobility issues.

The Ed & The Curious Crew at The Royal Children’s Hospital is an interactive app. It is a passport for young people to explore some of the hospital’s behind-the-scenes secrets and opens the door to bigger themes, like education, fundraising and sustainability. The app is supported by teaching prompts – for kindergarten through to secondary school – for creative explorations in the classroom and beyond. It is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play as a free download. It was developed by Deepend and the RCH Education Institute with support from the RCH Foundation.
