Sydney, 23 September 2013 – Highly respected corporate real estate professional Christopher Hynes is to assume the Pacific leadership role of CBRE’s Global Corporate Services (GCS) team as of 1 January 2014.
Mr Hynes is taking the reins from Peter Messenger who is retiring as GCS Senior Managing Director after 35 years in the industry.
CBRE’s GCS team offers a full range of corporate real estate services, including tenant and occupier advice, tenant and occupier representation, project management, lease administration and facilities management.
CBRE President & CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Tom Southern said the leadership change formed part of a long-term succession plan, which recognised the success Mr Hynes had achieved both as head of CBRE’s GCS business in Western Australia and as one of the leading tenant advisors in Australia.
The businesses of both Mr Hynes and Mr Messenger – those being Swale Hynes and GVA respectively – were acquired by CBRE in 2007.
.
“Since that time, Peter and Chris have been responsible for developing our corporate services offering to the point where we are in a market leading position across Australia,” Mr Southern said.
“I’m confident that Chris will continue the growth and success of this team and he will be working closely with Peter between now and the end of the year to ensure a smooth and effective transition.”
In his new role, Mr Hynes will remain based in Perth but will travel regularly throughout the Pacific. While he will assume the leadership position on January 1, Mr Messenger will remain with CBRE until 30 April to ensure a fully managed transition.
