Education, Training and Employment Minister John-Paul Langbroek today announced the full list of finalists from across Queensland who in the running for this year’s awards. “The Queensland Training Awards are the state’s highest recognition for vocational education and training excellence across the seven regions,” Mr Langbroek said. “Our training industry is brimming with examples of outstanding achievement and more than 600 entries were received from across Queensland this year. “Apprentices, trainees, vocational students, teachers, trainers, registered training organisations and employers all play a key role in growing Queensland’s four-pillar economy in the tourism, agriculture, resources and construction industries. “Congratulations to all state finalists for their achievements and best wishes to all for the state awards.” The eleven categories for the state awards include – Harry Hauenschild Apprentice of the Year, Bob Marshman Trainee of the Year, School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year, Vocational Student of the Year, Vocational Education and Training Teacher or Trainer of the Year, Small Employer of the Year, Employer of the Year, Small Training Provider of the Year, Large Training Provider of the Year and The Premier’s Industry Collaboration Award. Winners of the eleven state awards will progress to the Australian Training Awards held in Perth on Friday 22 November.
