ROANOKE, Va., Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- An equestrian estate that formerly served as the home to the Wake Forest University women's equestrian team is set to sell in a Nov. 20 auction, along with 88 acres including frontage on the Yadkin River. Woltz & Associates will market the properties and conduct the auction.

The property, located 25 minutes from downtown Winston Salem, will be offered in eight tracts, three of which front on the river, according to Jim Woltz, president of the auction company. It is also the former home of the Yadkin Valley Hounds and Yadkin Point & Kennel Club.

"We have sites of 13.9 acres, 6.3 acres and 10 acres that offer some elevated home sites with frontage on the Yadkin," said Woltz. "It could be that someone might want the entire 88 acres, which would give them the river frontage as well as the excellent stables, paddocks and equestrian training facilities."

The equestrian facilities include a 29-stall barn and 120-foot by 225-foot riding ring that has hosted numerous intercollegiate competitions. The barn has hot and cold water wash stalls, a riders' lounge, two public restrooms, tack and storage rooms, overhead storage, and a three-bedroom living quarters overlooking the riding ring.

"This is truly a turnkey equestrian operation, with everything someone needs for raising, training and showing fine horses," said Woltz.

A 10.1-acre tract includes a three-stall barn and a 1,800-square-foot living area that served as living quarters for the huntmaster of the Yadkin Valley Hounds.

"What is really astounding is that this entire property will be sold subject to an outrageously low minimum bid of a total of $798,000," said Woltz.

The auction will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the WinMock at Kinderton. Woltz personnel will be available to guide inspections and provide additional information on Nov. 3, 9 and 17 from noon to 4 p.m. Individuals seeking additional information may visit www.woltz.com or call 540-342-3560.
