LONDON, Oct. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Edison Investment Research, a leading international investment research firm, announces the initiation of coverage of Rare Element Resources (NYSE: REE), a mineral development company focused on developing its Bear Lodge project.

Edison's comprehensive report, Bear Lodge rare earth oxide project, was published on 1 October 2013, and examines the investment case for Rare Element Resources, the mineral development company.

The analysis by Rob Kirtley, an analyst on Edison's Mining team, shows that Rare Element Resources' Bear Lodge project, situated in Wyoming USA, is scheduled for start-up in late 2016 and is planned to include a mine, a physical upgrade plant and a hydrometallurgical concentrate plant (which incorporates new proprietary rare earth oxide concentration technology). The group's 2013/14 evaluation programme is fully funded, while longer-term funding options include potential access to Wyoming state development bonds. The ore body, which contains 944Mlb (428Mkg) total rare earth oxides is enriched with critical rare earth neodymium and heavy rare earth europium and would provide a non-Chinese source of rare earth oxides.
