SAO PAULO, Sept. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- From September 26th to 29th, Miami will host a group of 120 Brazilian executives to discuss economic, institutional and tourism relations between Brazil and the U.S. at the 18th Meeting International . Organized by LIDE – Grupo de Lideres Empresariais [Group of Business Leaders], headed by Brazilian executive Joao Doria Jr., the event is the first Brazilian initiative to bring together a significant number of executives to strengthen relations and take up important questions concerning corporations and governments in a number of different countries.
The high point of the event will be the International Seminar, on September 27th at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Hotel, with the presence of 250 executives from the two countries. Florida Governor Rick Scott has been invited to take part in the event. Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado will be taking part in the discussion.
This will be an opportunity to hear the opinions of big names in politics and business, who will be addressing matters of interest to both countries. Roberto Rodrigues, Brazil's former Minister of Agriculture, will speak about the strength of ethanol and oranges in Brazil's exports to the U.S., which have given Brazil a high profile on the international scene.
Among Brazilian companies that have confirmed attendance at the event are, Sapore, Amilpar, C&C, 3M, Investe SP, Magazine Luiza, Braskem, Andrade Gutierrez, MAN Latin America and Pepsico. Royal Caribbean International, American Airlines, Ocean Drive/Art Basel, Cardenas Group, Elite International Realty, CPLS, Bank of America - Global Commercial Banking, Miami Heat, Newlink Group, Zarco, Einhorn, Salkowski & Brito, CMC Real Estate Group and Natpaper USA are some of the U.S. companies that will be taking part in the discussion at the Seminar.
In addition to the participation of major Brazilian and American CEO's, the 18th Meeting will feature the presence of government officials. Marconi Perillo, Governor of Goias; Mauro Vieira, Brazil's Ambassador to the United States; and Rodrigo Garcia, Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology for the State of Sao Paulo, are among the confirmed guests.
Brazilian federal Deputies, Arnaldo Jardim, Nelson Pellegrino and Walter Feldman, and Senators Cassio Cunha Lima; Senate leader, Eduardo Braga; Jose Agripino Maia; Luiz Henrique da Silveira; Ricardo Ferraco and Romero Juca Filho will also be taking part.
Considered Brazil's largest event outside the country, for nearly two decades the International Meeting has been bringing together leaders of major companies and public officials to strengthen relations and foster opportunities for bilateral business. The gathering has taken place in South Africa, Chile, Argentina, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia and Italy, among other countries.
