Mary Lou Jones, Broker/Owner of Homefinders Plus Real Estate Inc., has been a REALTOR® since 1988.  Her Real Estate career started when her youngest child left for college.  Prior to this event, Mary Lou had been a stay at home mom, volunteering in many of her children's activities, playing bridge about three times per week, playing tennis whenever the opportunity presented itself, and participating in community and church work.

Looking to expand her horizons, Mary Lou decided to take a class in real estate because it seemed like a fun thing that she could do part time.  Mary Lou was hooked from the onset and could not believe that someone would pay her for doing something that she enjoyed so much. Even though Mary Lou was looking to work part time, Real Estate became a full time job immediately.

Mary Lou believes that one of the most rewarding aspects of her career is working with young families buying their first home.  The excitement of finding their dream home, going to closing and moving in is such a huge accomplishment that she feels that she is on 'cloud nine' with them. In addition, Mary Lou is also very proud of the fact that she started Homefinders Plus Real Estate, Inc. with two of her friends. Throughout the years, they have been very successful and currently have a 42% market share in their county and have been the leading company in listing and sales every year since their first full year in business. Mary Lou's husband told her early on that he knew she would be successful, but she had no idea that the business would be such a success. 

As a true testament to Mary Lou's dedication and expertise, she maintains membership on the Board of Directors and served as Past President of the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce, and also served as Past President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Harrison County Student Achievement Association and the Friends of the West Virginia State Bar. She is presently a member of the National Association of Professional Women; Presidential Who's Who Among Business and Professional Achievers; Harrison County Association of Realtors; West Virginia Association of Realtors; and the National Association of Realtors. Furthermore, Mary Lou currently serves on the Board of Directors of the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV and is a member of the Human Resources Committee.

In addition, Mary Lou's talents have been recognized by her community at large. She is the recipient of the Athena Award, a highly acclaimed honor, which is presented for business and professional excellence, community service and especially for mentoring to others given by an international network of business professionals. In addition, Mary Lou earned the 2007 Honorary Italian Woman of the Year awarded by the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival Committee.

In her spare time, Mary Lou is an avid reader.  Her other hobbies include bridge, painting and cooking. She enjoys spending time with her family above all else and treasures holidays and vacations spent together. She believes that small aspirations are important to success, and takes pride in her standing as a good wife, mother, and grandmother, and her ability to cook an excellent meal.
