PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the successful sale of 2GW of solar projects in the US, Mexico, and Chile, Element Power Americas has concentrated its solar development efforts on smaller projects serving utility, government, commercial and industrial customers. Building on this success, Element Power was recently selected by Hawaiian Electric Company, subject to PUC approval, for fast-track negotiations on a solar facility to supply renewable energy to the island of Oahu. Element Power Americas was also one of only 6 small businesses awarded Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville and the Army Energy Initiatives Task Force (EITF).
Raimund Grube, President and COO of Element Power Americas, commented that, "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with new and existing customers to meet their renewable energy needs. 2013 has marked a significant milestone in the company's growth, demonstrated by the recent selection of Element Power projects by multiple customers and the successful sale of two solar asset portfolios that included late stage assets shortlisted or in PPA negotiations."
Formed just 5 years ago, Element Power has successfully developed over 430 MWs of renewable energy projects that are now in construction or operation. The company continues to develop and market both wind and solar projects and holds strong competitive positions for these technologies in the US, Latin America and Europe. "The wind and solar assets in the US and Latin America present near and medium term opportunities for the company and our customers. The expanded focus on the Americas, from the US office, reinforces our ability to manage resources toward the most competitive assets in the highest value markets and to attract partners with specific interest in the Americas," said Ty Daul, CEO of Element Power Americas.
