Dr. Oz is the host of the five-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning "The Dr. Oz Show," which airs locally weekdays at 4 p.m. on WXYZ - Channel 7. He is Vice Chairman and a professor in the Department of Surgery at Columbia University in New York City.
Prior to his own show, Dr. Oz was a featured health expert on "The Oprah Winfrey Show." In addition to regular appearances on the "Today" show, he has also been featured on "Good Morning America," "Larry King Live," "The View" and "Piers Morgan Tonight." He has guest-hosted the "Charlie Rose" show and appeared on all the evening news broadcasts. He also served as medical director of Denzel Washington's "John Q" and participated in several other feature films.
Dr. Oz has authored more than 400 original publications, book chapters and medical books, including seven New York Times Best Sellers, has received several patents and continues to perform more than 100 heart surgeries per year.
