The washer and dryer combo, as well as the stackable dryer unit, uses a ventless condensing system that makes it possible to install in a variety of places. All that is required to run the washers is a power source, water, and a drain. In addition, the all-in-one combo can be converted into a portable washing machine and attached to your kitchen faucet.
Each unit comes with a 1-year parts and labor warranty, sleek design, and LG LoDecibel Quite Operation System. Also included is LG's SenseClean technology that customizes wash cycles based on the size and weight of each load. The stackable unit only uses 9.3 gallons of water and each dryer is equipped with a sensor that detects when clothes are no longer damp.
The LG combination washer dryer operates on 110 volts /15 AMPS of electricity, or 1650 watts for the combined washing and drying actions. According to energy.gov the wattage of a traditional washer hovers somewhere around 350-500 watts, while a dryer may require between 1800 and 5000 watts.
Energy.gov also explains that inefficient top loading washers can cost up to three times more to operate then energy efficient ones. One of the biggest uses of energy in this process is the heating of water. Front loading washers are generally more efficient because they require less water. These machines typically drain more thoroughly, which cuts down on drying times. FJS hopes customers will be attracted to the many energy saving features of these LG washer and dryer models.
