MISSION, Kan., Oct. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- ScriptPro announces that its SP Central Pharmacy Management System Point of Sale now interfaces with the Appriss NPLEx (National Precursor Log Exchange) system. NPLEx is a real-time electronic logging system used by pharmacies and law enforcement agencies in 22 states to track and control sales of over-the-counter (OTC) products that can be used to produce the highly addictive drug, methamphetamine. 

The interface eliminates the need for pharmacies to maintain cumbersome manual logs to document sales of these OTC products. The system tracks product requirements, automatically alerts for entry of required patient identification data, sends back approval or denial, and blocks any transaction that would cause the purchaser to exceed legal limits set for the product.

The National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI) makes NPLEx available at no cost to states that require monitoring of precursor purchases and agree to use the system.
