BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

U.S. polling firm Arthur J. Finkelstein & Associates will conduct an exit poll for the October 9th Presidential election in Azerbaijan.

The company has been invited to Azerbaijan by its local media partner APA Holding.  The President of APA Holding, Vusala Mahirgizi, signed a deal with Finkelstein Executive Director Barbara Fiala last week.

Arthur J. Finkelstein & Associates has been an influential player in U.S. politics since the 1960s and has worked with politicians including Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan as well as Senators, Congressmen and Governors at home, and abroad in countries such as England, Austria, Israel, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.

"It has been a privilege to work with young nations where the political and electoral systems are quite rightly under scrutiny from more mature democracies," said Ms Fiala. "We look forward to the coming weeks."

According to the cooperation agreement, AJF will conduct an exit-poll on election day at the request of and in the partnership with APA Information Agency. It will also conduct polls and make necessary recommendations during the election campaign.

Finkelstein is set to offer this election more than just a first glimpse of the result late on October 9th. It will also conduct voter-intention polling ahead of the elections to gauge what issues most concern the nation's 4.9 million voters.
