Both Vine Street and Downeast schools serve pre-K - 3rd grade, and were in need of some of the basic school supplies of notebooks, pencils, crayons, and glue sticks, as well as other items, such as backpacks and lunch bags. Pulse decided to pitch in and help.

"I am a big fan of the Bangor Public School system," says Cntia Miranda, President of Pulse Marketing Agency. "My daughter has been lucky enough to attend public school here in Bangor since kindergarten and she's thriving academically! I owe her success to the amazing teachers and administrators who are so dedicated to the academic success of our children. I think Bangor is an attractive city to work and raise a family, which is in part due to the great public school system we have here," noted Miranda, who moved to Bangor in 2009 with her husband and daughter - the same year she opened Pulse Marketing Agency in downtown Bangor. "I always tell my friends and family in Massachusetts how good we have it here, and sometimes I'm under the impression they think I'm embellishing it!"

The first event for the 5 Months, 5 Deeds, 5 Years campaign was held in May during Bangor-Brewer Trails Day. Pulse presented Bangor Mayor Ben Sprague with 5 Snowball Viburnum trees to be planted around Bangor to attract pollinators to the community. The Waterfront Workout event, which was held in June on the Bangor Waterfront, was the second deed and aimed to promote family health and outdoors bonding time in the area parks. Last month Pulse sponsored a week of camp at Bangor Parks and Recreation for 5 local children of low income families, who otherwise could not afford to experience summer camp.

The next and final event for the 5 Months, 5 Deeds, 5 Years campaign will be dedicated to Pulse Marketing Agency clients, who have helped this young business grow from one person into a sustainable employer and contributor to the community.
