The delivery took place at the Airbus Delivery Center in Toulouse on 4 September 2013 and was part of a series of sale-and-leaseback transactions between CALC and Air China. This A330-243 was the fourth aircraft delivery to successfully complete a mandate from Air China to CALC of four A330s from 2011. The previous A330 deliveries took place in April and July 2012, as well as August 2013.

The A330-243 is a sophisticated aircraft type among the A330 family. Equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 772C-60 engines, it offers the highest efficiency among comparable aircraft types at low operating costs. Passengers can enjoy a high-level of passenger comfort with an inflight entertainment system installed throughout all classes.
