Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Roberts served as a public defender in Mecklenburg County. The majority of Attorney Roberts' caseload involved domestic violence defense matters in District and Superior Court. She led the Domestic Violence Litigation Group, which involved training new Assistant Public Defenders on domestic violence defense as well as presenting on-topic Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars.

Charlotte attorney Selin Nassi Roberts also has extensive experience defending drunk driving charges, traffic violations and pursuing expungements. She was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2003 and was in private practice with a Charlotte criminal defense firm before becoming a public defender.

Mrs. Roberts is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. While in Miami, attorney Roberts interned at the Office of the Miami-Dade Public Defender, handling client intake and jail visits as well as preparing and arguing a variety of criminal motions.

Mrs. Roberts brings a competitive spirit to the courtroom that was developed on the tennis court and honed through years of legal practice. She is an accomplished tennis player, having served as the Captain of Boston University's Division I women's tennis team and toured internationally as a professional.
