"We are grateful for all of our fans who first, nominated us, and second, for those who attended the event and voted for us. The competition was tough," said Josef Bomback, Chef/Proprietor. "We are so pleased that our efforts to make fresh, intensely flavorful ice creams with the best of the best ingredients are appreciated and that people recognize and support a small, local artisan company over a more established, multi-store chain like Mitchell's."
The featured flavors at the event were Salt & 'Scotch, a Cowhaus Creamery original of organic sea salt and lip-smacking butterscotch, Haus Coffee made with organic Colombian single estate beans custom roasted by Rising Star Coffee and Toasted Coconut made with organic, un-sulphured coconut. Mini versions of their popular ice cream sammies also delighted the crowd.
"This competition is the Oscars for Lorain County businesses. Everyone at Cowhaus Creamery is completely committed to making the best ice cream possible, and building a world-class brand," said Cowhaus Creamery's Creative Director and Proprietor Debby Krejsa. "As a young company, we are honored to have earned this recognition two years in a row."
"We are a seasonally inspired and ingredient driven company that relentlessly sources locally," said Bomback. "With nothing but awesome as our goal, our reputation is organically growing because of our unique flavor combinations, attention to detail, quality and excellence. And we're doing it right here in Northeast Ohio. In Lorain County...Elyria to be exact."
