According to a recent article by Good Gear Guide more photos are taken daily with the help of an iPhone compared to any other camera on the market. The iPhone is an incredibly popular gadget in today's technologically active 21st century. Aside from its obvious uses as a handheld telephone, the iPhone has a reputation for taking quality photos at the drop of a touch screen button.

"I personally love my iPhone. I use it to capture moments when I don't have access to my Nikon. I've even surprised myself with the shots I've taken with my cell phone. It's almost unbelievable that a camera can take such great photos," said Sydney Eick.

In addition to its high quality built in camera, the iPhone offers photo enthusiasts a multitude of applications that can improve the color, contrast and overall quality of any photograph. These applications are available for just a few dollars yet add an exponential degree of quality to camera phone pictures.

For example, the popular application Filmic Pro is a video-capture application that is just under five dollars. The app offers pro-quality video features including HD modes like zoom, focus, white balance and exposure. Another app, BeFunky photo editor offers free editing effects including colored frames, text addition and backgrounds.

A more serious photography app is True HDR, one that produces high dynamic range photos. Sydney Eick suggests that amateur photographers download this app, as it is a wonderful resource for creating high quality photos with the help of an iPhone.

panoramic shots and Wood Camera, an app that allows users to create vintage inspired photographs with various edits. Most of these applications range in price from free of charge to around five to seven dollars each.

"Though my professional career will always rely on a high quality Nikon, I can genuinely appreciate what these apps are doing for the amateur photographer. These days, everyone is taking pictures. I'm happy to see that others can share my passion with helpful iPhone applications that allow even the most beginner photographer to create beautiful keepsakes," concludes Sydney Eick.
