KC Hopps statement:

After pioneering the brewpub industry in Kansas City and proudly running the 75th Street Brewery for 23 years, it is with mixed emotions that we turn the keys over to our neighbors and friends at Summit Grill and Bar.  We look forward to Summit moving their establishment and continuing the tradition and high standards of serving Kansas City and more specifically the Waldo community.   In recent years, KC Hopps has drifted away from the focus of making beer and has focused on our other well-known brands.  We are committed to excellence and look forward to entertaining our long standing loyal patrons at other KC Hopps locations.  A lot has happened at the Brewery over the last two plus decades.  Many people have worked at the Brewery, strong friendships have been developed and others have even met their spouses there.  We have made an extraordinary amount of friends, and created an incredible amount of memories.  We intentionally decided to get the word out about the closing of Kansas City’s first brewpub with plenty of time for anyone who would like to stop by and say goodbye, reminisce and have one for old times’ sake. We will close up shop on May 15th and will have a lot of fun from now until then.   All 75th Street Brewery employees will be offered jobs at other KC Hopps locations
