Miami-Dade College Professor Raymar Rodriguez honored by IndieFab Book of the Year Awards

Miami, Fl.- Foreword Reviews has announced the winners of its annual IndieFab Book of the Year Awards for the best indie books of 2013. Representing hundreds of independent and university presses of all sizes, the winners were selected after months of editorial deliberation over more than 1,500 entries in 60 categories. This year's list of winners includes Garrison Keillor, Barry Lopez, Harvard Business Review, Georgia Museum of Art, B&H Publishing, Rizzoli Publishing, SUNY Press, Loyola University Press, Chicago Review Press, Valentine D'Arcy Sheldon, and Wayne State University Press, among others. The winners exemplify the best work coming from today's indie authors and publishers.Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention awards, as well as Editor's Choice Prizes for Fiction and Nonfiction, were determined by a panel of librarians and booksellers and announced at a special program during the American Library Association Annual Conference in Las Vegas on June 27, 2014. Raymar Rodriguez has been immersed in “everything money” since 1984. He was a banker at a large financial institution for 12 years. During that period, he reviewed thousands of personal financial records, statements, profiles and budgets. This training gave him the uncanny ability to quickly detect and address problems in his clients’ budgets. He developed the Financial Survival Workshop, later called Financial Happiness Workshop, to address financial problems being experienced by many in his community. The class is still being taught after 10 years at his local church and through a career transition support network. He is also the author of “The Little Red Book of Financial Happiness – Life After Prison.” Raymar holds a Master’s in Finance and is currently an Adjunct Finance Professor at Miami Dade College in his hometown of Miami, Florida. He is an avid fisherman and also the founder of Florida Hook and Tackle, Inc. a fishing t-shirt company.
