As a celebrity hairstylist and owner of the Hair Icon Beauty Bar, located in Norfolk, Virginia, Shiree was able to answer questions ranging from how to start and stay in the beauty industry to makeup tips from runway to everyday.  In a comfortable question and answer format, Shiree provided candid conversation in an intimate atmosphere and was easily able to connect with her audience along with her fellow glam team panelists.  The Award winning stylist shared her knowledge of the beauty industry, explained how she constantly perfects her craft and the rewarding feeling she gets when working with innovative talents, including CoKo of SWV.

Deemed the official Atlanta fashion weekend, FITCA was one of the most influential fashion events of the season. About Shiree “The Hair Icon” Mcclendon

Award winning celebrity stylist and owner of Hair Icon Beauty Bar, Shiree Mcclendon, started her career in 2004.  It didn't take long for her to build a following of clients including Coko of SWV, and Gospel Singer, Tamiya Carter, who appreciate her attention to detail.  Her unmatched expertise in lace closures, infusions, microlinks and more have prompted her to enter and win a host hair competitions. Shiree has been published in international magazines such as Salon Digest and Hair in Motion and has lead the styling teams on various photo shoots. A native of Memphis Tennessee, Shiree relocated to Virginia after her high school graduation and shortly after, received her cosmetology license.  Within five years of working as a booth rental stylist she became a salon owner.  The first Hair Icon Beauty Bar location had only two stylists stations.  With a need to be different from her fellow hairstylists, Shiree felt that she could reach more people in a broader market.  Within one year, the wife and mother of four girls moved her establishment to where she has been able to employ seven stylists and a receptionist in the 1500 square foot location in Norfolk, Virginia. Specializing in all types of hair extensions and hair pieces and being a licensed instructor has allowed Shiree to stand out amongst her competitors.  In 2014, she launched her hair line designed to enhance the beauty of women of various backgrounds and ethnicities.  In addition, she is currently developing the Hair Icon Flat Iron, which is in the production stages and will be available in 2015 to the mass market.
