LOS ANGELES, Oct. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Friendly House Los Angeles, will honor Winn Claybaugh, author, Dean and Co-Founder of Paul Mitchell's schools; Earl Hightower, Founder, Hightower Associates; and Sydney Holland, renowned philanthropist and CEO of Rich Hippie Production at their annual Awards Luncheon, Saturday, October 26 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Viola Davis and Sumner Redstone serve as Honorary Co-Chairs; Peggy Albrecht and Michael Hollingsworth, Co-Chair. Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Charlie Colin will emcee.

Friendly House was founded in 1951 and was the first home in the country for women recovering from substance and alcohol abuse. They have successfully treated thousands of women with a success rate of 76%.  The organization is solely supported by private donations, grants and by the fundraising efforts of the Board of Directors, Grateful Hearts.

The "Humanitarian of the Year" award is being presented to Winn Claybaugh, author, founder and co-owner of hair care giant Paul Mitchell's schools. Claybaugh is also the author of Be Nice (Or Else!), the best-selling book that outlines the culture and philosophy practiced by every Paul Mitchell School. Under his leadership, the Paul Mitchell Schools' annual three-month-long "FUNraising" campaign has raised over $11.2 million for numerous charitable organizations

For nearly 30 years, Friendly House's "Excellence in Service" award honoree Earl Hightower has worked on the front lines of addiction treatment as a professional interventionist. He now instructs and supervises qualified individuals on the art of intervention as the president of Hightower Intervention Services, LLC. Hightower is a Certified Intervention Professional, Level ll Board Registered Interventionist and a member of the Association of Intervention Specialists.

A renowned philanthropist and CEO of Rich Hippie Production, Sydney D. Holland epitomizes the "Woman of the Year" award. Holland has been an advocate and active supporter of Friendly House LA for years as well as many other major charities. She founded The Sydney D. Holland Foundation, an organization committed to raising awareness of at-risk youth in 2012. The foundation also funds substance abuse prevention programs serving women and the young.
