Federal Mediators Issue Statement On Tentative Agreement at NY Nuclear Facility

WASHINGTON, Jan. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service issued the following statement on the tentative agreement reached in the labor negotiations between Entergy and Utility Workers Union of America Local 1-2 relating to the Indian Point Nuclear Facility, Buchanan, NY:

"After bargaining into the early hours this morning, the Utility Workers Union Local 1-2 and Entergy announced today that they have reached a tentative agreement at the Indian Point Nuclear Facility covering the next four years.

"The union with its recommendation will submit the tentative agreement to its members for ratification.  

"The FMCS commends both labor and management representatives for their successful negotiation and for their commitment and dedication to the process of collective bargaining. 

"In addition, FMCS recognizes the work of FMCS Commissioners Peter Donatello and Martin Callaghan, who assisted the parties in reaching their tentative agreement.

"Out of respect for the ratification process and consistent with the Agency's longstanding policy on confidentiality, FMCS will neither comment on nor disclose the terms of the agreement."
