Age-Related Pains and How You Can Ease Them

If you find yourself with some aches and pains on a daily basis, then the good news (or sad news, depending on how you look at it) is that you’re not alone in this. There are millions of people each and every day that have some kind of chronic pain, and many that have acute pain (from things like illness or injury). Some types of pain are going to be a little more common during particular times of your life. So being prepared, and having a little knowledge of the things that can come as you age, can help you know how to avoid things, or avoid irritation in the first place. So with that in mind, here are some of the types of pain that you should know about, and some tips to help you to manage them.

Lower Back Pain

Lower back pain can be a pretty common chronic pain that can happen at all different times in your life. If you haven’t felt any injury in your back, lower back in particular, then the pain that you might feel in your back is likely from sitting down for long periods of time. So if you have an office job then that is a likely cause of lower back pain (unless you’ve had a particular injury which is causing the back pain). Things like osteoarthritis can also be a condition that can also mean that you’re more likely to have some lower back pain. So that is something to look out for.

Headaches

Headaches can come and go, but for some people, they can occur each and every day. And if you get them with other symptoms, like sickness or a feeling of nausea, then those kinds of headaches can be one of the most common kinds of pain. The experts aren’t really sure what causes these kinds of headaches, but they can be triggered from things like tension in your muscles, dehydration, hormones, stress, and even certain foods. Pain medications like ibuprofen can offer some relief. But if you have them regularly, then it is so important to speak to your doctor.

Joint Pain

If you feel like you have pain around the joints, that is not arthritis based, then it can feel pretty common. It could be something like tendinitis, which is an inflammation of the tendons that are all around your bones. Arthritis can be painful or tough, but things like tendinitis will feel more painful the more that you move. So if you are doing a lot of repetitive things then it could be tendonitis. So if you feel pain when you do certain things, then try to give yourself a rest from doing them for a while.

Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain, for women, is one of the most kinds of pain that they can experience. In fact, one in seven women from the ages of eighteen to fifty get chronic pain in their pelvis. It can be quite extreme pain or just a dull ache, as it is different for different people. But the things is, it isn’t caused by periods, but could be related to something like endometriosis or irritable bowel syndrome.
