DENVER, Feb. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Over the past decade, Denver, Colorado has become the city of choice for leading events and conventions across a wide range of industries. This April, the prestigious High Times Cannabis Cup, BIG Industry Show and Galleria five-day event looks set to take Denver's reputation as a host city to a whole new level.

According to Denver's latest visitor statistics, the city hosted 98 city-wide conventions during 2012, attracting more than 266,000 delegates. When compared with the mere 94,000 delegates attracted by the city's conventions just a decade earlier, in 2002, it's clear to see that Denver is a rising star on the US events scene.
With delegate spending in Denver reaching a staggering $530 million during 2012, the importance of conventions to the city's economy is apparent. And with the combined BIG Industry Show, Galleria and Cannabis Cup event expected to attract over 15,000 delegates between 16 and 20 April 2014, this event is set to be one of Denver's largest.
Tickets for the show are almost sold out, meaning its 15,000 delegate target looks close to being reached. If achieved, it will mean that the BIG Industry Show, Galleria and Cannabis Cup will single-handedly account for around 5% of Denver's total convention visitors during 2014.
One of the biggest draws of the partnership is the way in which the organisers have sought to combine business and lifestyle events into one annual spectacular. It's an approach which has proven extremely successful when trialled in previous years and this year looks set to be even bigger and better. Buyers are signing up daily to attend the show, the list of sponsors is extensive and local support is reported as having been tremendous.
It's not just local interest that the show has attracted, though. Exhibitors, sponsors and attendees from around the world are set to fly into Denver for the five-day event. The first two days will see business to business trading at the world's largest head and smoke shop industry trade show. A wider range of promotions has been lined up, in keeping with the BIG Industry Show's reputation for innovative products and expert retailers.
The third day of the event will feature the celebrated annual Galleria glass exhibition, which for the first time will be open to members of the public. With everything on display blown specially for the show, Galleria's reputation as an industry-leading event is bound to be secured for another year. Previous Galleria shows have seen collectible pieces sell for up to $25,000, though a huge variety of more affordable pieces will also be featured.
With the US Cannabis Cup 2014 concluding the nation's largest 420 lifestyle event on April 19 and 20, packed with seminars, exhibitions, music and celebrity visitors, it is plain to see why this year's show has generated such incredible interest, further enhancing Denver's reputation as the choice for leading conventions.
