SWORDS, Ireland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ingersoll-Rand plc (NYSE:IR) is pleased to announce that Ray Lewis will serve as senior vice president of human resources and communications for Allegion plc, the new $2 billion standalone global security company to be created upon its separation from Ingersoll Rand later this year.

In this role, Lewis will lead the strategy for all human resources, communications, brand management and company reputation management matters for Allegion. He will also serve as an officer of the company.

Lewis joined Ingersoll Rand in 2006 as vice president, utility equipment and attachments business units. He played a key role in the divestiture of Bobcat and the other construction businesses to Doosan Infra-core International (DII) in 2007. At DII, he served as vice president of human resources, accountable for the function and its global HR transformation.

He returned to Ingersoll Rand in 2008 as vice president, human resources for global operations and product management for the company’s Industrial Technologies Sector (ITS). For the last three years, Lewis has served as the ITS human resources and communications vice president. In this role, he has been instrumental in developing and delivering the human capital strategy and building the leadership and organizational capability to drive business success in the sector.

In addition to Ingersoll Rand and DII, his career includes 10 years in various human resources leadership roles at GE, and 13 years in the U.S. Army, where he was a commissioned officer and helicopter test pilot.

Lewis holds a master’s degree in global human resources leadership from Rutgers University and a bachelor of science degree in engineering and leadership/organizational development from the United States Military Academy. He will be based in Carmel, Ind.
