A Ventura County native, Lopez earned his bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in Japanese from Duke University. He earned his law degree and a Master of Laws degree in tax from Loyola Law School, where he served as secretary of the Tax Law Society. While in law school, he was a site supervisor for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Before joining FCOP, Lopez was a senior associate at Slater Cosme, PC in Pasadena, where he focused on the areas of tax, real property, estate planning, and trust and probate administration.
Lopez is admitted to practice before all state courts in California, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of California. Lopez also represents taxpayers before the United States Tax Court.
