Entertainment Today

Over the past eighteen months or so, there have been a huge number of stories for the different kinds of businesses that have been struggling to either keep things moving forward or to get things back off the ground following the impact of the pandemic. There have been just as many stories starting to emerge with perhaps the most notable signs of good news coming from the entertainment industry. So, how is it that entertainment as a whole came to thrive more than all others?

The first big success comes through the gaming area in entertainment. Some of the biggest online successes have been gaming options that have been able to thrive with the closure of brick-and-mortar locations, particularly with the likes of Spin Casino online as one of the many big names that have been able to grow. Online casinos as a whole may look to even be replacing offline options with some experts suggesting that even as brick and mortar locations re-open the features found online may outweigh them considerably. By being easily accessible through platforms like mobile and with all of the features that come from the online shift, gaming has certainly been able to stand out and with newer audiences and demographics becoming more attracted and more involved in gaming too and in large part is why the gaming section of online entertainment has been able to grow so fast.

In a similar vein, online entertainment through TV and Movies have been able to grow for many of the same reasons, with accessibility being at the heart of the success. When it was announced that big studios like Warner Bros would shift from box office only releases to digital releases too, it provided a unique opportunity to bring some of the biggest new releases directly to our own devices, something only seen before with original options from Netflix for example. As these studios have become more willing to make this change, it continues to provide unique and new opportunities for the entertainment industry as a whole to grow and succeed.

The final part for the huge success being found comes from other adaptions to deliver traditionally offline experiences directly to the online consumers, things such as music festivals have found their own virtual changes too, and continue to deliver something previously only found offline into the online space too. Entertainment as a whole has shown that with the way online platforms have changed over time and the way we now consume media on a large scale, it had been perfectly poised to tackle this difficult situation and to come out on top where others may have fallen behind in the past.

The next big question for many will certainly be a look at what’s next – with different spaces already very much on top how they can continue to grow will be the next big question and how they’ll be able to continue to capitalise on the most recent successes. With some spaces finding a little slow down like console gaming due to tech shortages, other spaces with streaming for example are on the rise and finding ways to deliver this in a wider way will continue to be the next challenge.
