SANDY, Utah, Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SecureAlert, Inc. (SCRA: OTC-US), a global tracking and electronic monitoring services company, is demonstrating both a new TrackerPAL™ mobile application and an enhanced version of its ReliAlert Beacon™ RF transmitter during the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) annual winter conference currently being held in Houston. The two new products can be seen at SecureAlert's APPA booth in spaces 117 and 119.
The TrackerPAL Mobile App™ is designed specifically to bring the power of SecureAlert's customer-acclaimed TrackerPAL software to mobile devices, including tablets and smart phones. The full-featured TrackerPAL Mobile App offers many significant benefits:
- Both real-time and historical offender location viewing.
- Instant execution of key TrackerPAL software commands.
- Distinct functionality to make the most out of every mobile device, including mobile device-to-offender proximity identification, and turn-by-turn directions to an offender location.
"TrackerPAL Mobile empowers users with real-time alarm and location data, as well as historical insights," said Keith Griffiths, SecureAlert Product Manager. "Now they have the same TrackerPAL abilities while in the field that they have come to rely on in the office."
SecureAlert is also demonstrating its newly enhanced ReliAlert™ Beacon, an RF transmitter that works in conjunction with SecureAlert's premier ReliAlert™ XC GPS tracking device to provide agencies with consistent offender location information. The Beacon is a battery-operated, short-range transmitting station that provides a continuous Radio Frequency (RF) signal and automatically communicates with the ReliAlert XC device when the wearer comes within range. Once activated, the transmitter unit receives the RF signals from the Beacon and communicates them to SecureAlert's TrackerPAL monitoring software.
The ReliAlert Beacon also provides house arrest functionality by allowing officers to configure the ReliAlert XC device with specific schedules and distance ranges. The unit automatically issues an alert to authorized supervising personnel at the moment that a device wearer is not within the specified range at the specified time.
"The goal and requirement of electronic offender monitoring is to have visibility to device wearers' whereabouts at all times," said Bernadette Suckel, SecureAlert VP and Managing Director of North American Business Development and Marketing. "The ReliAlert Beacon is designed to provide coverage in areas that may otherwise have gaps and to provide for the tightest possible curfew zones."
