NAPA, Calif., Sept. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunday's Emmy® Award winners walked away with more than a trophy as they exited the Nokia Theater L.A. LIVE.  They each needed a free hand to carry a custom etched bottle of 2009 Beaulieu Vineyard Private Reserve Georges de Latour, an award winner in its own right.  Eighty-four bottles of the "great American Cabernet Sauvignon," each bearing an etched rendering of the iconic "Emmy®" statuette and the legend Congratulations, 65th Emmy® Awards Winner were presented in the Winners Circle at the Governors Ball.  As a unique memento of the evening, special gold "glass" pens were also provided, so that winners' family and colleagues could sign their bottles, and personalize this night of achievement.

This marks the tenth consecutive year that Beaulieu Vineyard, the 113 year old winery in the heart of the Napa Valley and home to Georges de Latour, has been featured at Emmy® celebrations.   "BV is proud of the long-time relationship we share with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences," said Jeffrey Stambor, Director of Winemaking for Beaulieu Vineyard.  "To celebrate the 65th anniversary, we wanted to gift Emmy® winners with something special to keep the memories of the evening fresh.  We have paired our BV 'trophy' wine with the iconic Emmy® in a presentation that can be both enjoyed and treasured for years to come.  Capturing the signatures of those friends and colleagues that were here to celebrate this special achievement, makes the memory sweeter," continued Stambor.

The individually etched bottles complemented an 18 liter etched and painted bottle of 2009 Georges de Latour signed by winners, nominees and presenters and displayed at the Governors Ball, an exceptional, one-of-a-kind collector's item. This year's autographs include: Emmy winners Anna Gunn (Actress in a Drama Series, Breaking Bad); Dan Bucatinsky (Guest Actor in a Drama Series, Scandal); James Cromwell (Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie, American Horror Story: Asylum); June Foray (Voice-Over Actress, Governors Award Recipient); Tony Hale (Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Veep); Lily Tomlin (Voice-Over Performance, An Apology To Elephants); as well as Beaulieu Vineyard winemaker Jeffrey Stambor, Alison Holker, Anna Chulumsky, Cat Deeley, Dot-Marie Jones, Hugh Bonneville, Imelda Staunton, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jim Carter, John Benjamin Hickey, Julie Bowen, Matt LeBlanc, Mayim Bialik, Michelle Dockery, Morena Baccarin, Sarah Paulson, Toby Jones, Ty Burrell, Al Sapienza, Bellamy Young, Darwin Shaw, Kit Harington, LaMonica Garrett, R.J. Mitee, Lesley Nichol, Navid Negahban, Brittany Ishibashi, Scott Bakula, Diogo Morgado, and Sebastian Knapp.

This marks the third year that BV has created an oversized bottle for signing.  The enormous, signed bottle will be displayed at the BV Visitor's Center in Napa, California.  As with the two previous commemorative bottles, it will be filled with wine and resealed to order for a lucky buyer.  Proceeds will benefit the educational programs of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the medium of television and educating those who will impact its future.

In addition to the 2009 vintage Private Reserve Georges de Latour, Governors Ball guests enjoyed the 2011 Beaulieu Vineyard Carneros Chardonnay, both wines selected to pair with Patina Catering Chef and Founder Joachim Splichal's culinary menu.  A sample range of limited edition BV wines was also served at a thematic central wine bar.  "I am also delighted that every guest will take home some of the 65th anniversary cheer in the form of parting gift bottles of BV Napa Cabernet."

BV Georges de Latour Private Reserve was the first reserve Cabernet produced in America and has been a benchmark in California winemaking since the first vintage in 1936. Named for the winery founder, it is the most eagerly anticipated wine produced by Beaulieu Vineyard. Last year, BV celebrated the 75th anniversary harvest of grapes for this iconic wine. The 2009 and 2010 vintages, widely considered to be excellent years, have received glowing reviews from respected wine publications.
