LYNDHURST, N.J., Dec. 24, 3013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- SpeechTrans Inc. today announced its collaboration with Intel®, allowing the company to optimize its successful Pro Communicator app for Intel's latest tablet platforms, as a new participant in the Intel® Software Partner Program for independent software vendors (ISVs).

SpeechTrans Pro Communicator for Android was recently tested and verified to run effectively on mobile devices based on Intel® Architecture. As an Intel® Software Partner, SpeechTrans received the necessary substantial technical and marketing support to help optimize the application for the platform.

"Our goal is to continue helping as many people as possible with our Pro Communicator app. Speech translation is a global need, so we are very grateful that a truly global company like Intel has taken notice of our solution to this universal problem," said Yan Auerbach, COO of SpeechTrans Inc.

Powered by Nuance, the SpeechTrans Pro Communicator app is designed to help professionals and individuals speak and understand different languages within seconds via voice recognition, photo translation, text to speech and text translation. Users can then email their translated text, post it on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, or send it via text message. The Pro Communicator app also allows users to video chat with speech translation and translate over landlines.

"It's no longer sustainable to pay human translators and interpreters on a professional level," said Auerbach.

According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of interpreter and translator jobs went down by 13.8% from 2010 – 2012. There were 50,320 translator and interpreter jobs in the United States as of May 2012, down from 58,400 in 2010. However, in 2010, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projected that job growth for translators and interpreters would rise by 42% from 2010 – 2020.

SpeechTrans aims to make automated speech translation and dictation technology more accessible for professionals such as doctors, lawyers and educators, and individual travellers. In 2011, the company raised seed funding from the Jumpstart NJ Angel Network, a group of venture capitalists based in Mount Laurel.
