OMAHA, Neb. and LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AIM, a not-for-profit that promotes technology careers and education, recently acquired USA Projects and renamed the online crowdfunding service for artists to Hatchfund, www.hatchfund.org.

"The new name and enhanced infrastructure will allow us to greatly expand the country's largest free for artist crowdfunding platform," said Chad Latham, program director for Hatchfund.

Hatchfund's goal is to help artists such as Ellen Bar, director of media projects at the New York City Ballet, accomplish the challenging task of fundraising for specific projects and programs. Each artist featured on the site presents his or her case for support, and Hatchfund provides the artist with fundraising assistance and individual coaching, according to Latham.

In addition to funding from individuals, Hatchfund creates links to partner organizations that provide matching funds and support to the arts. Hatchfund is the only crowdfunding platform with the patent-pending capability for donors' gifts to be automatically matched. Donors can search for projects by geography, discipline or challenge.

Every day more and more qualified artists are coming to us with outstanding projects that donors want to support. "Our tax-deductible platform and patent-pending matching technology are ideal for funding projects," says Latham.

Hatchfund's mission is to provide resources and support to the artists who advance culture and inspire brilliance. Projects on Hatchfund enjoy a 75% success rate. This crowdfunding service is free for artists with donors helping fund operations with small additional donations.

Started in Omaha, AIM has Nebraska offices in Lincoln, Kearney and Scottsbluff and Chattanooga, Tennessee. AIM is currently expanding into additional cities, giving Hatchfund a presence in multiple markets as well as a national platform.

AIM is a not-for-profit community organization that promotes technology to empower people, enhance organizations and create brilliant communities. AIM's signature services include: Careerlink the region's leading career development website and Infotec, the Midwest's premier business and IT conference.
